✅ New: Two-Tier Approval Policy

We have released a new policy for two-tier leave approval. This lets you add a first line of approval before the request goes to the employee’s department or direct manager. For example, HR can review selected leave requests first. Once approved, the request then moves on to the normal manager approval step. The policy can be set up for selected leave types, employees, departments, or locations.

✏️ New: Managers and Admins Can Now Edit Leave Requests

Managers and admins can now edit leave requests directly from Team View without canceling or rebooking them.

Simply click on a request in question on Team View to:

• edit the request,
• approve or decline it,
• add comments.

Manager comments are added below the original employee comment so the full communication history stays clear and traceable for everyone involved.

⚡ New: Faster Team View for Large Companies

We have released a major performance improvement for Team View, especially for larger accounts with many employees and leave requests.

Team View interactions should now feel noticeably faster and smoother when scrolling, filtering, approving requests, or moving between dates.

This is part of our ongoing work to keep TimeOff.Management fast and responsive as companies grow, with more performance improvements already under way.

♾️ New: Unlimited Allowance Policy

You can now create a policy with unlimited allowance.

Assign it to selected employees, whole departments, or locations. This is ideal for companies that offer unlimited PTO or do not track a fixed annual allowance.

When enabled, allowance tracking is hidden. Employees simply see their leave types and any limits set per leave type.

This keeps things simple while still giving you full control over how leave is managed.

📈 Tenure-Based Allowance Policies by Department and Location

Tenure-based allowance policies are now more flexible.

You can assign a policy to selected employees, whole departments, or locations. This makes it easier to manage annual leave increases based on length of service across different teams, offices, or regions.

You can also create multiple tenure-based policies when different groups need different allowance rules. For example, one policy can apply to your UK team, while another can apply to a specific department or location.

This gives admins more control and reduces manual updates as employees move through their length-of-service bands.

🧑‍💼 Extended User Management Role

User management roles are now more flexible. In addition to selecting specific employees, you can assign access based on departments and locations. This makes it much easier to manage permissions at scale, especially for larger or multi-site teams. Set it once and ensure managers only see and manage the people relevant to them.

📧 New: Employee Leave Summary Report

A new report gives you a clear overview of employee leave in one place. It includes employee number, name, location, and department, along with holiday entitlement, days taken, and days booked. Planned leave is calculated at the time the report is generated, so you always see the most up-to-date picture. Perfect for quick checks, audits, and better planning.

📍 New: Team View Location Filters and Grouping

Team View now supports location-based filtering and grouping. You can filter by one or more locations, see active filters as clear removable chips, and group employees by location, by department, or not group them at all. Your preferred grouping view is also remembered, so Team View stays the way you like it. A practical update that makes Team View much more useful for multi-site businesses.

🎨 Leave Type Color Indicators

Leave types now display clear color indicators across the system, including calendars, employee summaries, and leave request cards. This makes it much easier to scan lists, recognise different types of leave, and understand absences at a glance. A small visual change that delivers a big improvement in clarity and usability.

📧 New: More Flexible Schedules and Rotas

TimeOff now gives you more ways to match real working patterns across your business. You can create weekly schedules for individual employees, set up simple repeating rotas from any chosen start day, and define different standard day lengths for different days of the week.

This is especially useful for companies where, for example, Friday is a 5-hour day but still counts as a full working day. Because the system understands the real length of that day, partial leave bookings are also calculated correctly. That means a half day on a 5-hour day is treated as 2.5 hours, and hourly bookings are measured against the employee’s actual working day.

Non-working days from schedules and rotas are also clearly shown in Team View and My Calendar, making it easier for employees and managers to plan leave, organise cover, and avoid confusion.
