Stability & Performance Improvements

After delivering a large number of new features over the past few weeks, we spent this week focusing on stability, reliability, and performance.

We’ve made a number of improvements across the platform, with the biggest gains in Team View. For larger accounts, some operations are now up to an order of magnitude faster, making the application feel much more responsive.

A big thank you to all of our customers for your continued feedback. Your suggestions help us shape TimeOff.Management and improve it every week.

New:Leave Tracking in Hours

We have released one of the biggest updates to TimeOff.Management.

Leave can now be tracked in:

• Days
• Hours
• Days and Hours

This gives companies much greater flexibility when managing employee leave and allowances.

The feature is especially useful for organisations that calculate leave entitlement in hours rather than days, which is common in the United States and for shift-based employees.

Employees can request leave in hours, allowances can be tracked in hours, and reports automatically reflect the selected unit.

This update makes TimeOff.Management suitable for a much wider range of leave policies and working patterns.

⏱️ Flexible Leave Request Increments

We have released a major improvement to leave request increments.

The smallest leave request increment can now be set to as little as 15 minutes.

We have also added this setting as a policy, allowing different rules for different groups of employees.

For example:

• Office employees can book leave in 15-minute increments.
• Farm workers can book leave in 1-hour increments.
• Different locations or departments can have their own minimum booking increments.

This gives companies much more flexibility and allows leave booking rules to better match the way different teams work.

🎉 Allowance Based on Employment Start Date

We have released a major improvement to leave allowance calculations.

Until now, leave allowance could only be calculated from the start of the company leave year.

You can now choose to calculate allowance from each employee’s employment start date instead.

This is particularly useful for companies where leave entitlement increases based on service length or where each employee follows their own anniversary-based leave cycle.

The new option provides more flexibility and allows leave allowances to reflect the employee’s actual time with the company more accurately.

📱 Mobile Leave Editing

Managers and admins can now edit and cancel leave requests directly from mobile devices.

Simply open a leave request from Team View on mobile to:

• edit leave dates,
• approve or decline requests,
• cancel leave requests,
• add comments.

This makes managing leave requests much easier when away from your desk.

📊 Improved Reports

We have updated the Reports section with a cleaner, more modern layout and better filtering options.

You can now filter reports by leave type, location, department, and a custom date range.

Previously, reports could only be viewed by month. Now you can choose any period you need, from one exact date to another.

As always, all reports can be downloaded as CSV files for payroll, HR records, or further analysis.

👥 Improved “Who Is Also Off” Visibility

We have improved the “Who Is Also Off” section shown in leave approval requests sent to managers.

Managers can now clearly see:

• who is off in the requester’s department,
• and who is also off across other teams they oversee.

This gives the best of both worlds — precise visibility into staffing levels within the employee’s own department, while still keeping a wider view of overall team availability.

🔒 New: Calendar Feed Management

Managers and admins can now see all calendar feeds created within the company account and revoke them when required.

The new screen gives better visibility over active calendar integrations, including Team View, Company, Calendar, and Custom feeds created by employees.

Any feed can be revoked instantly to immediately stop access to the calendar link.

This screen can be accessed from:

• Advanced Settings → Calendar Feeds
• My Profile → Calendar Feeds

This improvement gives companies better control, visibility, and security over shared calendar feeds.

🗂️ New: Leave Policies

We have added a new Leave Policies feature to make leave type setup safer and easier to control.

Before, any new leave type added to the system could become available to every employee. This meant admins had to manually close that leave type for people who should not use it.

With Leave Policies, you can now group selected leave types together and assign them to:

• employees
• departments
• locations

This gives you much better control over who can request each type of leave.

For simple setups, you can still use the Global Leave Type List if the same leave types apply to everyone.

For more advanced setups, you can create different policies for different groups. For example, managers, salaried staff, farm staff, or employees in a specific location can each have their own set of available leave types.

When a new employee is added to a department or location, they can automatically be covered by the right policy.

📱 New: Weekly Team View on Mobile

We have released a new weekly Team View for mobile devices.

The new layout makes it much easier to see who is off during the week directly from your phone, with better visibility and smoother navigation on smaller screens.

This improvement is especially useful for managers and teams who regularly check leave schedules while away from their desk.
