🔒 New:Improved Access to Reports Policy

We have improved the Access to report policy to make privacy rules consistent across the system.

Leave types marked as hidden are no longer visible to users who only have access through a Leave Report policy.

Hidden leave remains visible only to managers and administrators, ensuring sensitive leave information is protected while maintaining the same privacy rules throughout TimeOff.Management.

🔄 New:Rolling Leave Types

We have released a major new feature: Rolling Leave Types.

You can now create leave types with a rolling time window and a maximum allowance. TimeOff.Management checks the selected rolling period and makes sure the employee cannot exceed the configured limit within that moving window.

This is ideal for leave policies such as FMLA, PFL, DBL, parental leave, or any policy that uses a rolling entitlement instead of a calendar or company year.

Rolling leave types can also be configured to overlap with other selected leave types. For example, an employee can be on Sick Leave and Protected Leave at the same time, allowing both leave types to be tracked correctly without preventing the overlap.

This feature gives organisations much greater flexibility when managing statutory and company-specific leave policies.

✅ More Flexible Two-Tier Approval

We have improved the Two-Tier Approval policy.

You can now set the employee’s direct manager as the first approval step, followed by HR or another selected user as the second approval step.

This gives companies more control over approval flows while keeping the process clear and easy to follow.

💬 Approval Comments on Pending Requests

We have improved the approve and decline with comment functionality.

Managers and admins can now add comments when approving or declining any incoming pending request, not only when editing the request.

This makes it easier to keep the reason for each decision clear and visible, without extra steps.

🚦 More Flexible Leave Overlap Policy

We have significantly improved the Restricted Leave Overlap policy.

Previously, you could only allow one employee to be off or require one employee to remain at work.

You can now define exactly how many employees can be away or how many must remain at work, making the policy much more flexible for teams of all sizes.

As before, the policy can be applied to selected leave types and specific groups of employees, helping you maintain the right staffing levels while giving employees the flexibility to request leave.

Stability & Performance Improvements

After delivering a large number of new features over the past few weeks, we spent this week focusing on stability, reliability, and performance.

We’ve made a number of improvements across the platform, with the biggest gains in Team View. For larger accounts, some operations are now up to an order of magnitude faster, making the application feel much more responsive.

New:Leave Tracking in Hours

We have released one of the biggest updates to TimeOff.Management.

Leave can now be tracked in:

• Days
• Hours
• Days and Hours

This gives companies much greater flexibility when managing employee leave and allowances.

The feature is especially useful for organisations that calculate leave entitlement in hours rather than days, which is common in the United States and for shift-based employees.

Employees can request leave in hours, allowances can be tracked in hours, and reports automatically reflect the selected unit.

This update makes TimeOff.Management suitable for a much wider range of leave policies and working patterns.

⏱️ Flexible Leave Request Increments

We have released a major improvement to leave request increments.

The smallest leave request increment can now be set to as little as 15 minutes.

We have also added this setting as a policy, allowing different rules for different groups of employees.

For example:

• Office employees can book leave in 15-minute increments.
• Farm workers can book leave in 1-hour increments.
• Different locations or departments can have their own minimum booking increments.

This gives companies much more flexibility and allows leave booking rules to better match the way different teams work.

🎉 Allowance Based on Employment Start Date

We have released a major improvement to leave allowance calculations.

Until now, leave allowance could only be calculated from the start of the company leave year.

You can now choose to calculate allowance from each employee’s employment start date instead.

This is particularly useful for companies where leave entitlement increases based on service length or where each employee follows their own anniversary-based leave cycle.

The new option provides more flexibility and allows leave allowances to reflect the employee’s actual time with the company more accurately.

📱 Mobile Leave Editing

Managers and admins can now edit and cancel leave requests directly from mobile devices.

Simply open a leave request from Team View on mobile to:

• edit leave dates,
• approve or decline requests,
• cancel leave requests,
• add comments.

This makes managing leave requests much easier when away from your desk.
