The Employee Calendar is a one‑stop, self‑service booking system that empowers employees to manage their own bookings and stay in control.

It features several sections that present and aggregate all leave data:

  1. Calendar View: Displays all leave requests, including their statuses (pending or approved), blackout dates, and upcoming company events.

  1. A visual representation of the current leave balance gives a clear overview of remaining leave (entitlement, booked, remaining).

  1. A comprehensive allowance breakdown offers a detailed view of allocation, including:
  • Carried‑over days from the previous year
  • Adjustments (manual or policy updates)
  • Pro‑rata calculations for mid‑year starters
  • Additional allowance earned from overtime or other contributions

  1. A detailed “used so far” breakdown shows how allowance was consumed.

This structure reflects the leave types set up for the company. If the company uses PTO instead of traditional leave types, the system adjusts automatically.

  1. The final section lists holidays with status (pending, approved, rejected), dates, and comments. Employees can cancel requests that aren’t approved yet; approved leave can be revoked, which triggers the same approval workflow as the original booking.
