How do I add or change public holidays for a location?

1 min read By TimeOff Support

Public holidays are managed separately for each location and year, so different offices can follow different holiday calendars.

In TimeOff.Management, public holidays are managed from the Bank Holidays page.

How do I import public holidays for a location?

Open Settings → Bank Holidays, then:

  1. Select the location.
  2. Choose the year.
  3. Select Import Default.
  4. Review the holidays added to the list.
  5. Save your changes where required.

Always check the imported dates, especially where regional holidays or replacement dates apply.

Can I add or change a holiday manually?

Yes.

To change an existing holiday, find it in the selected location and year and choose Edit.

To add a holiday that is not already listed:

  1. Select the correct location and year.
  2. Choose Add New.
  3. Enter the holiday name and date.
  4. Set the Day Part if required.
  5. Select Save Changes.

You can also edit or remove holidays that do not apply to your organisation.

Can different locations have different public holidays?

Yes.

Each location can have its own public holiday calendar. This is useful when employees work in different countries, regions, states or provinces.

Make sure employees are assigned to the correct location, as their location determines which public holiday calendar applies to them.

Can I create a half-day public holiday?

Yes.

When adding or editing the holiday, use Day Part and select:

  • Morning, or
  • Afternoon.

Then select Save Changes.
